FAQs
Do I need a Diddit! kit to use this?
Yes. Refill packs include clay, colourants, foil and the instruction booklet only. You'll need the cutters, tools, findings, DomeCoat™ and ceramic tile from your original Jewellery Making Experience Kit to follow the instructions successfully.
Can I restock Findings or Domecoat separately?
Absolutely. All refill packs work with the tools and cutters from any Diddit! Jewellery Making Experience Kit.
How much can I make with one kit?
Each colourway gives you enough clay for a full making session — typically on average 2–4 pairs of earrings and 1–2 pendants, depending on the cutter sizes you choose. Smaller cutters = more pieces. Bigger cutters = fewer but bolder.
Your leftover clay from both colourways combines into a bonus third session — so you're really getting three rounds of making from every kit!
What is polymer clay?
Polymer clay is a non-toxic, oven-bake modelling clay that stays soft and workable until you bake it at 130°C in a standard home oven. There are a few popular premium brands on the market including Cernit, Fimo, and Sculpey, and we have extensively tested all of them for their various properties including bake time, strength, translucency, colour fastness and colourant mixability! The premium clay you receive inside your Diddit! Kit has been specifically selected to ensure it provides the best result for the particular 'recipe' you have chosen.
Once baked, it's lightweight, durable, and waterproof. It's widely used in jewellery making and is completely safe for home use. Do not exceed 130°C and do not microwave. We recommend using an oven thermometer as home ovens can vary. For full technical and safety information, see our [Technical Specs] page.
Cheap versions of polymer clay are available but not recommended, and can become crumbly, weak and/or very difficult to work with.
What do I do with leftover clay?
Don't throw it away! 'Scraps' from both colourways can be chopped, mixed, pressed, sliced, and cut into a whole new set of unique designs, and it's one of the most satisfying parts. We give you all the tips and ideas for your leftover clay in your instruction booklet.
Unbaked clay doesn't dry out and remains workable again and again until it is cooked. To prevent dust etc however, it should be stored in an airtight bag or wrapped in cling film, away from direct sunlight and heat. It'll stay workable for months, and it's always fun to bring out some balls of scraps to mix in with new refill packs or create interchangeable styles. Check out our Gallery, Customer Makes, Social media and blog for more tips and ideas.
